* Optional adventures are not included in the tour price
Saturay: We will pick you up at Tocuman International Airport (PTY) and take you to your hotel in Panama City to prepare for the upcoming adventure.
Sunday: We have a full day to explore this fantastic city! Starting with an incredible view from atop Cerro Ancon before we head to Miraflores Locks and museum on the canal. We follow the Panama Canal to Punta Culebra (owned by the Smithsonian) where we might see sloths, iguanas and some of Panama’s marine life, all while learning about the history of Panama, the canal, and the ships passing through. Have lunch on the Amador Causeway with fantastic views of the city skyline before a final stop in old town (Casco Viejo) for a tour that will take you back in time. Enjoy your 2nd night in the city.
Monday: Spend the day and night in El Valle, one of the world’s largest inhabited volcanic craters with its waterfalls, mud bath, spa treatments and Panama’s most famous market. Take one of the great hikes where you might catch a view of both oceans or enjoy mountain biking and horse riding in the valley. There’s even a night hike for the adventurous!
Tuesday & Wednesday: We will be in Pedasi, located near the southern tip of Azuero Peninsula, for lunch. Spend the afternoon on the popular beach, Playa Venao! Night tours go turtle watching in season. In the morning we will take advantage of the unique opportunity to get close to nature by visiting Isla Iguana, bring your snorkel! This is the best-protected reef in the Bay of Panama and home to a Frigate bird colony.
Other tour options on Wednesday include horseback riding on the beach, whale watching in season and kayaking. We return to our hotel for our 2nd night on Playa Venao.
Thursday & Friday: Next stop, Santa Catalina, famous for surf and the gateway to the poor man’s Galapagos. Friday, you can go diving or snorkeling in Coiba National Marine Park and hike some of the hidden trails on the island. Other tour options include learning to surf, trying your luck fishing off this famous fishing coast or go kayaking!
Enjoy our last 2 nights on the Pacific!
Saturday & Sunday: Fresh air, fresh food, and refreshing spa treatments complement the two National Parks that surround us here in the mountains near Cerro Punta, and there’s more: Orchid farms with (over 2000 species of flowers), birds (over 600 species including countless hummingbirds), and the illusive Quetzal, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Spend the night in one of the highest places in Panama! Enjoy a guided hike in the morning, spend the afternoon in Amistad National Park on 1 of 3 hiking trails, ranging from easy to moderate. Other options for the afternoon include horseback riding, mountain biking, bird watching and a visit to the spa. Sit by a cozy fire after sunset on our 2nd night at the lodge.
Monday & Tuesday: Choose from two options to get to Boquete. Make your way along a guided hike on the Quetzal Trail, descending through the cloud forest from 1800 meters to 1200 meters while keeping your eyes open in search of birds and other wildlife, or drive around the mountain and enjoy the ride! Once in Boquete the options keep coming. Be adventurous and fly through the rain forest canopy on zip lines, go white water rafting, ride horses or try rock climbing! Choose a more relaxed option and take a coffee tour, golf or enjoy the laid back atmosphere in town.
Wednesday through Friday: Bocas del Toro is a perfect last stop for this tour. We will take the day to get there and enjoy hot springs on the way! Once on the islands, choose from an all-day catamaran sailing/snorkeling trip, just relaxing in a hammock on one of the beaches, or taking one of the many other tours offered in the archipelago, including Starfish Beach, Red Frog beach and Bird Island. There is no wrong choice.
Saturday: You have time to relax before the scenic flight back to Panama City, followed by our last night’s dinner out in one of the many hot spots of Panama City.
On day 15 fly home if you have to, or add one of our many other Panama tours as an extension to your vacation!
