Sustainable Tourism and Us

Responsible/ Sustainable/ Ecotourism!

Sustainable Tourism is important to us and is an important part of how we operate. Panama's growing fast and the tourism industry is growing along with it. Help keep Panama clean and green!

Being socially conscious, minimizing negative effects on the environment, and contributing to local communities are all ways which will help keep Panama beautiful and help it remain a  desired destination in the future.

  • By using mostly Panamanian owned hotels, restaurants  and local tour operators we help contribute to the economy.

  • Visiting local communities, buying local handcrafts, learning about their culture and giving something back are all ways we show our respect for the indigenous.

  • Practicing Low and No impact tourism is our way of protecting the environment.

  • We use a CO2 Neutral Airline for our domestic flights.

 Meet Kevin,

I have always been the outdoors type, from golf to rugby and scuba to sky diving, never turning down a road trip or backpacking weekend (usually in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the winter!).  After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, I teamed up with a college buddy and hit the road!  A 4 month epic journey was the result and I have been traveling ever since.

My first tour guiding job came from a small company offering trips throughout North America.  I migrated from the Southwestern part of the U.S. up to the Canadian Rockies for the summer and back again. The second year I spent in Alaska! Years 3 - 5 with Trek America all over the continent, working/traveling 9 months out of the year in N. America and using the other 3 months to explore other countries.

For the first overseas adventure, I rejoined with my college buddy and went to Europe. The next year, 3 months in Australia starting with the 2000 new years in Sidney. Then I went backpacking in New Zealand for four months one winter, and my last winter off in 2002, I went to Mexico.

In Mexico, I met a friend who introduced me to Exodus, a London based company that does tours all over the world. I ran a trip for them from Mexico City to Panama City and absolutely loved it! Soon after I ran a few of those, I put a trip together from Alaska that would connect to the Mexico - Panama trip and connect again with their S. American trip to Ushuia, Argentina (THE most southern city in the world). I am probably the only guide to ever run a trip the length of the Americas!

After 5 years with them, I decided the time was right to start running my own trips in Panama. There is so much more than a canal.... come see for yourself!

I still run trips for Exodus from Panama to Guatemala. I have done trips for birding and outdoor adventure groups as well as small private tours for families or groups of friends and I am contracted out by other European companies to manage their tours in Panama.
