Day 1: Saturday
Make your way to the starting hotel in Panama City and prepare for our adventure.
*airport transfers can be arranged upon request
Day 2: Sunday
We have a full day to explore the fantastic city! Starting with the Miraflores Locks and museum. We will follow the Panama Canal to Punta Culebra (owned by the Smithsonian) where we might see sloths, iguanas and some of Panama's marine life while learning about the history of Panama, the canal, and the ships passing through. Have lunch on the Amador Causeway with fantastic views of the city skyline before a final stop in old town (Casco Viejo) for a tour that will take you back in time.
Day 3: Monday
Spend the day and night in El Valle, one of the world’s largest volcanic craters with its waterfalls, mud bath, spa treatments and Panama’s most famous market. Take one of the great hikes where you might catch a view of both oceans or enjoy mountain biking in the valley. There’s even a night hike for the adventurous!
Day 4: Tuesday
We will be in Pedasi, located near the southern tip of Azuero Peninsula, for lunch. Spend the afternoon horseback riding on the beach, whale watching in season, kayaking or hit the popular beach, Playa Venao! Night tours go turtle watching in season.
Days 5, 6: Wednesday, Thursday
In the morning we will take advantage of the unique opportunity to get close to nature by visiting Isla Iguana, bring your snorkel! This is the best protected reef in the Bay of Panama and home to a Frigate bird colony. After lunch we head to Santa Catalina, gateway to the poor man's Galapagos. Thursday, choose to go dive or snorkel in Coiba National Park and hike some of the hidden trails on the island. Other options include learning to surf, trying your luck fishing off this famous fishing coast or go kayaking with Fluid Adventures!
Day 7: Friday
We will leave Santa Catalina early to have more time to check out the islands in the Bahia de Chirique. Nice beaches, great bays for snorkeling and kayaking (both included). We spend the last night of this tour on one of the islands and all meals are included. Hard to find a more tranquil place than this anywhere!
Day 8: Saturday
Fly back to Panama City in the afternoon for the last night of the trip. If you have some extra time, check out another day trip with Barefoot Panama!
